Registration is now open to interested general surgical trainees/consultants for the National Complicated Acute Diverticulitis (CADS) audit. A participants consultation period is currently ongoing concluding on 15th April 2014.
The National CADS audit aims to explore the impact of variability in the management of acute complicated diverticulitis on patient outcomes and is anticipated to be a landmark audit impacting the management of acute complicated diverticulitis and generating the largest ever data set for this condition.

A pilot run will be conducted in May 2014 in Leeds and data collection will commence on the 1st of July 2014 for 3 months. This will be followed by a one-off follow-up in January 2015 from electronic patient records. This may be best facilitated by medical students where appropriate.
