For the last two years, general surgical collaboratives have come together to support at least one annual national audit project. Last year this was competitively selected and a similar process will be used for the 2014 topic. The rules are simple:
1. Submissions are encouraged from all general surgical collaboratives
2. Collaboratives may submit more than one proposal, but all proposals must be authorised/supported by their committee
3. The proposal must fulfil the definition of an audit project
Proposals should be no more than 300 words (usual headings: background, aim, proposed methods and outcome measures and any supporting references) and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org by 16th February. Late submissions will not be accepted.
All proposals will be anonymised and send to three clinical academics (Professors Blazeby, Jayne and Morton) who will each name their top three. A final decision will be made by the beginning of March to allow the winners time to prepare a presentation for the ASiT conference.
